The Foundry – Men’s Ministry
“As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17
It’s a fact that most men do not have a close friend – someone in whom they can confide; someone who will be there when they need help or just someone to listen. We don’t want Shepherd Gate men to be among those without a close friend. We want to build men who know their identity in Jesus as their Lord and Savior, men whose lives are balanced, and who are developing into leaders in their homes, their workplaces, their church, and their community.
Our men’s ministry plans events to meet the needs of every man. Check out our weekly, monthly and annual activities and plan to attend. We believe that every man needs the friendship of other Christian men so he can face life’s many challenges. These activities provide opportunities for you to grow in your relationship with Christ and with other men.
Shepherd Gate Church desires to bring men of all ages into a meaningful relationship with God, and to develop the men of the church into functioning and productive men of God.
We encourage one-on-one relationships where men meet to share life’s experiences and to grow in faith.
Small Groups: Men’s small groups (4-5 men each) meet on a regular basis to study the Bible and talk about real life issues that all men encounter.
Bible and Breakfast
meets every Wednesday morning at 6:00 am at the Chantilly Chick-Fil-A, on Willard Road in Chantilly. We meet for 45 minutes until 6:45 am, so that men can make it to work on time. You will be blessed if you make this a part of your weekly routine.
On the first Saturday each month, the men are invited to join together at the church for breakfast, fellowship, and a message relevant to men. We sure hope you will join us.
Annual Men’s Retreat
This weekend away is held each spring at a quality retreat facility. Men hear encouraging Christian messages, build friendships, and enjoy a time apart.
Annual Father-Son/Daughter Events
Occasionally, we hold special events for fathers to spend with their sons or daughters, such as rafting, camping, bowling, and other activities.
Community Service Projects
The Men’s Ministry coordinates through our Community Ministries, to participate in service projects to neighboring communities.
