ACTS stands for the four key elements of prayer: Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication. Shepherd Gate Church is a community of prayer. To us, and to all true believers in Jesus, prayer is as indispensable as oxygen. It is true that every victory we have seen, every changed life, every provision of our needs, is in answer to prayer. Through prayer we connect the needs we see with the unlimited supplies of grace and power that only God can give.
Prayer is not a discipline that only seasoned experts can master. Every true believer in Jesus can pray, young or old. As we pray we become more attuned to God's will, growing in understanding, obedience, humility, and love. No wonder, then, that Paul tells believers to "keep on praying" (I Thessalonians 5:17, NLT).
Shepherd Gate Church encourages all members to have special times of private prayer each day, and to practice God's presence, living in a spirit of prayer. We also know the great value of praying together, so we plan gatherings just for that purpose. Here are some opportunities for you to become involved in prayer with others:
Intercessors In Action: Notify the church office if you would like to receive e-mail messages about immediate and important needs.

Sunday: Please join us for prayer every Sunday morning before church at 9 am in the church office.
Monday: Ladies' Intercessory Prayer Meetings: Monday nights at 7pm, women gather for intercessory prayer. All women are free to join us on any given week. The time of intercession includes a time of worship, gathering of all the prayer requests and praise reports, and then we spend time seeking God for each request received. All that is required is that you come with a heart toward God and a desire to pray and intercede. If you want more information, please contact Scotti Duis at 703.961.1040.
Wednesday: Join us every Wednesday from Noon until 1:00 pm for prayer and worship. If you live or work in the area, please plan to spend this important time with us and with God.
