| The Truth and Training program was recently broken out into two parts:
Truth and Training: Ultimate Adventure (3rd and 4th graders) and Truth and Training: Ultimate Challenge (5th and 6th graders).
Both programs are similar, but they have different uniforms and awards to acknowledge the age difference, and the older children have more challenging books.
By the time children get to this age, they are beginning to be able to work on their own. They can usually read most of the words and understand what the verses mean on their own. That doesn't mean that there is nothing you as a parent can help them with, though! Third through sixth graders are still learning to pace themselves and the Truth and Training program is an excellent way for them to learn to study the Bible and work on memorizing Scripture every day.
To get an idea of how many sections your child needs to memorize per week, Awana has put together a fantastic resource called BookWalks. These are step by step, month by month guides through each one of the books, and they are available here: T&T Bookwalks |

| In order to make Wednesday nights as stressless as possible, we recommend the following:
- Put together an Awana bag. This should contain your child's Bible, their Awana handbook, and their uniform. This way only one thing needs to be grabbed on the way out the door and children will always have their handbooks. If you want an official Awana bag, there is one here: T&T Handbook Bag
- Encourage your child to spend 5-15 minutes every night of the week memorizing scripture or doing Bible studies in their books. The Truth & Training curriculum is not meant to be "crammed" on the night of Awana; it is meant to be worked on throughout the week.
- If you as a parent want to set an example for your children (show 'em how it's done!) then Awana is working on creating adult-level handbooks that include the same verses as the equivalent T&T book. These books can be found here:
